The Brand

SoulMade Tweed II is a soft, slightly heavier single-ply tweed yarn made from 100% mulesing-free merino wool. It is spun at a family-owned wool mill in Italy and combines a lightly spun merino base with tiny tweed neps for a beautifully lively fabric.

If you love the character of SoulMade Tweed I but are looking for a more substantial yarn, SoulMade Tweed II has the same distinctive tweed character in a heavier weight.

Gepard created the SoulMade Tweed range as the tweed yarn they couldn't find elsewhere: a single-strand yarn that doesn't twist, with a soft, comfortable feel and a carefully balanced relationship between the tweed neps and the base colour.

The yarn is remarkably versatile. Use smaller needles for a denser, more structured fabric, or go up in needle size for a lighter, more open and fluid result. The fibres bloom slightly after washing, so it is worth swatching and washing your sample before settling on your gauge.

The pared back colour palette uses tweed neps carefully chosen to complement each base colour. SoulMade Tweed II can also be held together with Kid Seta (or any of our lace-weight silk mohairs) or Cashmere Lace to change the colour, texture and character of the finished fabric.
