    Explore our gorgeous range of Ériu Yarns

    Ériu Yarns are the real deal: luxury Irish wool with full traceability, real provenance and a mission that goes way beyond making something lovely to knit with.

    Created by husband and wife team Lionel and Zoë, Ériu is helping rebuild the Irish wool industry through their Farm to Yarn network of small, family-run farms across Ireland.

    The yarn is made from 100% Irish wool, blending Bluefaced Leicester for softness, drape and lustre with Romney for structure and beautiful stitch definition. Soft enough for next-to-skin comfort, but with proper woolly character and substance.

    Every fleece is hand-sourced from Ériu’s own farm in the Wicklow Mountains and their wider Farm to Yarn network, then spun locally to create a fully traceable yarn with an actual story behind it.

    At Tribe Yarns, we love Ériu because it is the opposite of anonymous wool. It is honest, beautiful, traceable, sustainable and doing something genuinely important for Irish fibre heritage.

    Ériu is named after Ireland’s patron goddess, associated with fertility, sovereignty and abundance of the land. Éire, the Irish word for Ireland, comes from her name too.

    The brand was born from Zoë’s determination to find and revive real Irish wool after discovering that so much “Irish” knitwear and textile production no longer used Irish-grown fibre at all.

    Through their Farm to Yarn network, Ériu pays farmers far above the industry rate, supports small family farms, and works only with ethical, regenerative farms that they personally visit.

    Their Elements range is inspired by the Irish landscape and mythology, with four harmonious palettes: Air, Water, Fire and Earth. Each shade is rooted in place, folklore and elemental magic, from Atlantic blues and Wicklow greens to fire-festival ochres and soft mythic neutrals.

    This is yarn with soul. Beautiful to knit, meaningful to wear, and a quiet act of rebellion against throwaway, anonymous fibre.
