We saw this scarf in person this year, and knew we had to have one! And since it's such a special, showstopper of a pattern, it deserves to be made in traffic-stopping yarn!!
Construction Notes
“Chiaroscuro Scarf” is knitted from end to end starting with nine strip fringes.
All the strips are worked at the same time but separately in purled garter stitch, to create a stable fabric, using nine different balls of yarn.
During the knitting process, at regular intervals, the strips are twisted and joined together.
You Kit includes:
3 x 50g skeins of 90 Varas by Wooldreamers OR 200g of Merino Cloud by Artyarns
2 x 25g skeins of Silk Mohair Glitter by ArtyarnsYou will also need:

3.5mm (US 4) knitting needles
3.5mm (US E-4) crochet hook for crochet-chain cast-on and crochet cast-off
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge, unblocked.

One strip measures 2.5cm / 1” wide.Care:
We recommend hand washing non-superwash, hand-dyed yarns.
Although Artyarns are very consistent with their colourways, all hand-painted skeins are unique. If your project uses more than one skein, you may want to alternate / stripe the skeins.
Block / wash in lukewarm water with some wool wash, and lay flat to dry. Artyarns set their dyes with steaming and thoroughly rinsing but differing water temperatures and chemicals can cause some dye to bleed in any yarn.
If you're pairing light and dark colours, we recommend washing your swatch first to test for colour-fastness. -
