Isager

Isager Tweed (2,5)

  • Characterised by it’s beautiful colour play and fine structure, this lovely single-ply yarn works equally well used individually or knitted together with other Isager yarns, e.g. Alpaca 1, Alpaca 2 or Silk Mohair for a softer structure.

This yarn has a slightly irregular, homespun look, yet the mohair fibres give the yarn a remarkable softness and a lovely sheen. Isager Tweed works equally well for both indoor and outdoor garments and with the small flecks in different colours the yarn has a very lively surface.

Come and have a play in store to see which colour combinations speak to you, and to see our knitted up samples. Isager yarns are perfect for mixing up to create unique pieces.

    Spun and dyed in Ireland.

  • ISAGER YARNS

Renowned for classic yarns made from natural fibres, well suited for knitting, crochet, weaving and embroidery.

All the wool qualities are ideal for felting and for dyeing with plant dyes.

It is important to us that our yarns are produced with the greatest amount of care taken to both animals and humans.

Yarns bearing the same numbers can replace each other and a number 1 yarn combined with a number 2 yarn can be worked together to make a yarn equivalent to a number 3 yarn.
Yarns marked with * are suitable for machine knitting.

    THE COLOUR RANGE

Carefully created so the colours work well together both within and across the qualities. We rarely change the colours, as the range primarily consists of BASIC COLOURS, amongst which contemporary colours can always be found.

The colours and qualities of our finer yarns can be mixed to create unique pieces.

As a rule, single ply, densely spun yarns should not be used individually for working in the round, as they may pull the finished work. When worked together with other qualities this problem is avoided.
