  • Full disclosure - we really don't have room for another chunky/bulky yarn in the shop, but we absolutely COULD NOT resist this one.

After squishing and swatching and knitting and wearing, resistance was futile...

Beatrix (named for the author of Peter Rabbit, Beatrix Potter) is super light and lofty, but most  notably - it's gorgeously soft thanks to the super fine angora and extrafine merino.

This bulky gauge chainette creates a softly textured fabric with a lovely fuzz, and is perfect for luxurious, cozy garments and accessories alike.

And although we really don't like synthetics in our yarn, the added 16% nylon gives it strength and durability to counter the ultra soft (but not strong) angora. Plus, it makes it that little bit less expensive than gorgeous pure angora like our beloved Belangor.

You really have to try this one!

Nestled in the rolling hills of central Virginia, you’ll find Juniper Moon Farm, a place where fine wool sheep and Angora goats produce some of the finest farm yarns in the United States.

Founded by Susan Gibbs in 2007, Juniper Moon Farm was the first to apply the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model to yarn and spinning fibers. Our CSA and our flock retired at the end of the 2015 season. We think the flock has earned a lifetime of R&R, and they will live out their days grazing on sweet grass and sleeping under the stars.

In addition to the yarn from our own flock, Susan is the Creative Director of Juniper Moon Farm Yarns, a line of carefully sourced and thoughtfully crafted yarns that feature fibers grown in Peru, Argentina, Nepal, and Italy.
