WOW is a fine strand carrying tiny sequins, designed primarily to be held alongside another yarn. Add it to wool, mohair, alpaca, cashmere or cotton to introduce a subtle shimmer without significantly changing the weight or gauge of your project.
The effect is beautifully versatile. Pair WOW with a matching shade for understated sparkle that catches the light as you move, or choose a contrasting colour to make the sequins really pop.
Although we think WOW works best as a companion yarn, it can also be knit or crocheted on its own for open, airy accessories and decorative fabrics where sparkle takes centre stage.
One 25g ball contains 105m, so a little goes far. Use it throughout an entire garment, just on a yoke or cuffs, or even for a few shimmering stripes.
We don't normally stock synthetic yarns. If you've shopped with us before, you'll know we're passionate about natural fibres and choose them whenever we possibly can.
But when it comes to adding sequins to your knitting, there simply isn't a natural-fibre alternative that does the same job. So we've made an exception. -

Founded in 1963, Manifattura Sesia develops and manufactures premium yarns in northern Italy for hand knitting and the luxury knitwear industry.
Alongside its extensive collection of natural-fibre yarns, Sesia also creates specialist products designed to achieve effects that traditional fibres cannot. WOW is one such yarn: an ultra-fine strand of sequins that adds sparkle with very little extra weight or bulk.
While most of the Sesia yarns you'll find at Tribe are certified natural fibres, WOW fills a different role. We don't stock it because it's synthetic—we stock it because, at the moment, it's simply the best tool for the job.
