Contrepoint® Air N.1 is a completely different kind of yarn. Developed by French brand Chamade, it is a new-generation stretch yarn designed around movement - created specifically for contemporary knit and crochet garments.Rather than starting with a fibre and working out what could be made from it, Chamade started with the garment. How should it move? How should it fit? How should it perform in and out of the water? After three years of development, the result is a yarn with an exceptional degree of elasticity and shape recovery.
N.1 is the more substantial of the two Contrepoint® Air qualities, designed for structure, support and coverage. It can stretch up to four times its original length and recover its shape, making it particularly interesting for fitted garments, bodywear and swimwear.
Contrepoint® Air N.1 is quick-drying, UV and chlorine resistant and suitable for sea water, opening up possibilities for knitted and crocheted garments that can actually be worn in and around water.
Chamade is building a growing library of patterns specifically around Contrepoint® Air, because this is a yarn where seeing the finished fabric really shows you what makes it different. Expect everything from swimwear and bodywear to garments designed to move with the body.
