Q: I have just bought a Large child's weaving loom supposed to be for age 6 + ( make - Small foot) It has a rocker style bar instead of a heddle reed which I think is easier for my Grandchildren aged 7 and 5.
I am hoping your reed ( Ashford rigid heddle reed 16" 400mm 7.5 DPI A270)...view more will work with the child's weaving loom I have purchased. The loom has 42 slots spaced over 37 cm ( measured from first to last slot) .
Is your reed suitable for this loom do you know? We are very much enthusiastic beginners. Out of interest what does DPI stand for?
Many thanks Kayview less
A: Hi Kay. I’m afraid I can’t comment on whether these reed will work with the loom you already have. I can tell you that DPI stands for dents per inch (the number of warp threads going through a “dent” (or slot) in the reed. Hope that helps!
