We love these chainette, blown yarns, which offer the best of both worlds - amazingly warm, but very light and soft.

Some of these use cotton chainette tubes, and others silk. - but NEVER any plastics or petrochemicals. Here's why we love them!

1. Ridiculously light for their thickness

Instead of being spun as a solid strand, fibres are blown into a knitted tube (the chainette).

You get a chunky-looking yarn that weighs way less than a traditional spun yarn.

2. Warm as hell (but still breathable)

All that trapped air inside the tube = insulation.

Warmer than standard spun yarns of the same weight
But still breathable because it’s not dense. Proper winter knit energy, without overheating indoors.

3. Less pilling (usually)

Because the fibres are held inside the structure instead of loosely twisted:

Less fibre migration to the surface
Less bobbling over time (especially vs woollen spun)

4. Soft without being limp

Chainette construction gives:

Structure from the tube
Softness from the blown-in fibres. So you get that dreamy soft feel without garments collapsing into sad sacks after blocking.

5. Amazing for sensitive skin

Our yarns use cotton, merino silk, with alpaca or cashmere. And because they’re not tightly twisted, they feel less prickly.

6. Incredible yardage

Because it’s so light you often get more yardage per 50g/100g than you’d expect. Better value than it looks at first glance!

7. That fluffy, modern texture

They have a slightly haloed, airy look that feels:
