Ava Jacket

  • We saw this beautiful jacket at Isager and loved it for its distinct and eye catching look. It is part of the Isager Archives 2 Collection and was designed by Louise Rasmussen (My Favourite Things Knitwear), who was inspired by a 1980's jacket design by Marianne Isager.

Knit top down using Isager Alpaca 3 held together with Isager Tweed. The "newsprint" effect is created by holding Isager Merilin with the main colour yarns. Isager are especially known for cleverly blending fibres and the fabric created is both light and warm due to the combination of merino, alpaca and wool with a touch of mohair and linen.

We have kits for both the original (beige monochrome) colour way and also our recommended yarns to create something similar to the brown and blue version in the images.

    Comes in 8 sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL).

  • ISAGER YARNS

Renowned for classic yarns made from natural fibres, well suited for knitting, crochet, weaving and embroidery.

All the wool qualities are ideal for felting and for dyeing with plant dyes.

It is important to us that our yarns are produced with the greatest amount of care taken to both animals and humans.

    THE COLOUR RANGE

Carefully created so the colours work well together both within and across the qualities. We rarely change the colours, as the range primarily consists of BASIC COLOURS, amongst which contemporary colours can always be found.

The colours and qualities of our finer yarns can be mixed to create unique pieces.

As a rule, single ply, densely spun yarns should not be used individually for working in the round, as they may pull the finished work. When worked together with other qualities this problem is avoided.
