Sunday 3rd May: 10:30am - 1:30pm
Hot on the heals of the release her new AMAZING Hilja Mitts Pattern, we are chuffed to be able to schedule this ROOSIMINEworkshop.
Roosimine (rosie-me-ney) is an Estonian inlay technique that creates the appearance of embroidery through intentional floats in contrasting yarn on the right side of your knitting.
It’s the perfect technique to add some embellishment to your knitting that is easier than intarsia.
The name Roosimine translates to “decorating with roses”, which comes from a style of short stitch embroidery done on the Estonian island of Muhu.
In this fun workshop you will knit a small wrist warmer / swatch. Taught by the talented Aleks Byrd, a knitwear designer, illustrator and teacher, you will learn:
- How to read Roosimine charts
- Working with moving inlay yarn
Skill Level: Intermediate - Students should be comfortable knitting in the round and reading from charts
What to bring:

- Stitch markers
- DK yarn in 3 contrasting colours approx. 20g of each colour
3 hours, starting 10:30pm sharp. Please arrive promptly.
