  • The single-ply lace yarn from Cowgirl Blues is exceptionally convenient for loose lace patterns.  Fine, light and super soft, Merino Lace Single knits and crochets like a dream and has incredible yardage!  Two balls will be enough for a large shawl, whereas one will easily make a cowl or shawlette.

The 100g Gradient hanks match the 50g Solids for which they are named, and are a stunning accompaniment!

Everything is spun and hand-dyed on fair terms in South Africa, and the raw ingredients also comes from South Africa!

The custom colour palette which draws inspiration from the local landscape is truly divine!

is a Cape Town-based dye house and design studio specialising in South African wool and mohair.

Started by Bridget Henderson, who after a successful career as a strategy consultant in Paris returned to Cape Town and took up knitting again, experimenting with texture, patterns and colour. Frustrated at not being able to find suitable wool locally, despite South Africa being the world's largest mohair producer, she decided to start spinning and dyeing her own, and so the cowgirlblues brand was born.

"We work with the finest yarns, all of which are produced in South Africa.
Excellent quality merino wool and mohair fibre is cleaned, combed and spun by our suppliers, to international standards.

"Our custom colour palette is created in-house, from primary colours, and all of our dyeing is done by hand. The colour palette is updated regularly to keep it fresh, contemporary and inspiring, but customers are always welcome to continue ordering prior season shades.

"Inspiration is everywhere and we draw ours from the local landscape, people, flora and fauna, as well as contemporary fashion and international trends. "
