Responsible design – meet the makers of your kit:

Joanna Kubala is a Polish designer. In her own words she described her youth as difficult and poverty stricken. She is 41 and was a child during communist rule. During her childhood stores were empty, there was nothing to buy. Her grandmother made her mothers clothes and knitted sweaters. Joanna also wanted to make her own sweaters and started to teach herself using knitting magazines. She wanted beautiful and unique clothes and was soon envied by other school children. Joanna loves Intarsia because it requires patience and attention to detail.

The beautiful Indigo blue Ocean soaps are hand made from Natural ingredients by Sara White of Samaavar. Inspired by Persian motifs and natural ingredients, Sara brings tradition and modernity together through her clothing and skincare. Her mission is to bring understanding and commonality between people of different cultures and backgrounds through ethical means.

Inge Savelkouls Huisman in a Dutch designer specialising in sustainable design. She created the amazing Migaloo illustration for the project bag and guided the production.

BORO*ATELIER is situated in Amsterdam and it was created to combat poverty by teaching skills to long term job seekers and / or refugee status holders. BORO ATELIER teaches participants crafts like: sewing, screen-printing and dyeing textiles. Together with participants, BORO helps them to become self sufficient, enable them economically and help them to reintegrate into the job market.
