4 x Thursday Afternoons: 1 - 3pm
You asked, we created! Inspired by one of the most popular samples in the shop, this course will teach you all techniques involved in knitting your own KBG13 Cardigan by einrúm, as featured in First Book by einrúm.
During the 4 workshop style lessons you will learn techniques like knitting in the round, increases, decreases, following a pattern, cast ons, bind offs, creating a feature pocket and finishing! There will be set (fun!) homework between classes.
KBG 13 is a long, cozy, best-friend of a cardigan knitted in one piece from the top down, featuring useful pockets knit in a contrast colour - this cardigan is a wardrobe staple!
The cardigan is knit from requires einrúm L+2 or L+4 yarn. You will require 10 balls for the main colour, and one ball for the contrast pocket. If you're not a fan of Icelandic yarn, we can advise on alternatives.
You can customise as you like to make it shorter, longer, sleeve length and fit. You could add blocks of colour, or stripes.
4 x 2 hour classes, 1 - 3pm. We would advise you to come to the shop to choose your yarn before the start of the course so that we can advise you properly.
Basic knit skills - you must be able to cast on, knit and purl.
The pattern is included in your course fee. You will need to purchase/bring yarn and needles.
This pattern requires Worsted/Aran weight yarn. We recommend einrúm L+2 or L+4 yarn.
We are sorry but we cannot offer refunds on classes if you are unable to attend for whatever reason, unless we are able to refill your spot.
Please do not bring kids, pets or other dependents with you to your classes. Please arrive on time.
The class will likely take place on the 1st Floor, up the spiral staircase, or down the stairs to the basement classroom.
My name is Nuria and I'm from Barcelona. Almost 13 years ago I married my lovely Aussie boy and we've managed to have 2 gorgeous kids together, My little Aussie man and 12 years old Aiden and my gorgeous and very determined little english lady Ari who is 8!
Six years ago we embraced a big adventure and moved to London from Barcelona. And here we are, three years later, happy and loving this little adorable place that is Kew (Richmond) where we live.
So, now that I can definitely say that my family is all settled, it's time for me to start my own big adventure and share my little creation:Yaya Knits & Bobs
Yayaknits is about sharing and teaching people to knit and crochet, along with the opportunity to purchase hand-made knit and crochet products that I can design for you or we can design together.
The inspiration for Yayaknits comes mainly from my grandmother Carmen who we would call Yaya. She was an amazing, brave and inspiring woman who taught me as a little girl all the knitting and crochet skills she was passionate about. I would like to share this passion to all that want to learn.
