Eri Silk, often referred to as the fabric of peace or Ahimsa Silk, is processed without killing thesilkworm.Moths leave the cocoon and then the cocoons are harvested to be spun.

Peoli's Eri Silk Yarn has been hand-carded, spun and plant-dyed
by the artisan women of in Almora in the Kumaon Hills of the Himalayas in Northern India.
All raw materials are ethically sourced and naturally processed using time-honoured techniques and craft traditions of the region. Peoli use harvested rain water, solar energy and locally grown plant dyes as a step towards creating a sustainable system of hand spinning, natural dyeing and hand knitting in Uttarakhand.
Yarn is naturally dyed. These natural, plant-based dyes are soothing for the makers, users and their respective contexts.
Natural dues produce living colour - a unique hue each time, a colour that matures and ages, pays tribute to the Sun, Water, Soil and Wind and celebrates the story of the source from which it has been cultivated.
This gorgeous silk yarn knits up absolutely beautifully, and produces a soft, drapey fabric which is such a pleasure to wear!
Each wonderful ball of yarn comes with a gorgeous hand-crocheted flower created by the yarn spinner herself. A really lovely touch!
