Brenna is a mixed stitch cowl worked in three of our favourite colours of Cumbria – Buttermere, Scafell Pike and Hadrian’s Wall. There are five panels each with their own stitche taken from across the garments in the Fell Garth collection. The five stitches include striped garter, wicker, mini bobbles, moss and linen.

masham wool, 10% mohair; 218m (238yds) per 100g hank, Worsted weight).  Shown here in Buttermere (A) – 1 hank, Scafell Pike (B) – 1 hank and Hadrian’s Wall (C) – 1 hank.

Needles

4.5mm (US 7) needles

Tension/gauge

20sts x 28rows = 10cm (4″) in stocking stitch using 4.5mm (US 7) needles,
20sts x 26rows = 10cm (4″) in woven slip stitch using 4.5mm (US 7) needles,
19sts x 34rows = 10cm (4″) in moss stitch using 4.5mm (US 7) needles,
26sts x 26rows = 10cm (4″) in wicker pattern stitch using 4.5mm (US 7) needles.
