  • Get inspired with Artyarns Inspirations!

These are Limited Edition colours in some of our favourite Artyarns bases: Merino Cloud, Double Mohair, and ultra-lux Cashmere Ombré 2 ply!

Every purchase includes exclusive patterns designed to bring out the yarn colours. Once a colour sells out it’s retired and will never be repeated.

The March 2023 colourway was inspired by the magnificent wildflowers of the Sierra Mountains and includes shades of cyan blue/greens, and stunning deep mulberry, greys, and speckles of orange and gold.  Skeins are hand-painted in an ombre style, and will knit up with long colour repeats.

Lovingly dyed by artisans with brushes.

Read more about each of the yarns and their characteristics here:

    Silky Twist
    Beaded Silk & Sequins Light

Patterns will be emailed to you upon purchase*:

    1. Sierra Bloom Slipped Tweed Hat and Cowl by Iris Schreier: 1 skein of Silky Twist in the Sierra Bloom colourway and 1 skein of Silky Twist in colour N30B or another contrasting colour, using a simple slipped tweed pattern.

    2. Sierra Bloom Triangle Shawl by Iris Schreier: a one skein shawl knit in Merino Cloud and designed by Iris Schreier.

    3. Sierra Bloom Romance Shawl by Dana Fehrenbach: 1 skein of Double Mohair in Sierra Bloom and 1 skein of Merino Cloud in N30B creates this crescent-shaped large shawl. Cashmere Ombre 2 Ply is also a great substitute for Mohair Ombre 2 Ply!

    4. Sierra Bloom Cowl by Danielle Couriér: 1 skein of Silky Twist in Sierra Bloom, and optional Beaded Silk and Sequins in Sierra Bloom.

(PS - prices are for 1 skein of yarn. We often photograph more than one skein together so you get more "views" of the yarn, but unless you're buying a kit, each skein is sold individually.)

    Care:
We recommend hand washing non-superwash, hand-dyed yarns.

Although Artyarns are very consistent with their colourways, all hand-painted skeins are unique. If your project uses more than one skein, you may want to alternate / stripe the skeins.

Block / wash in lukewarm water with some wool wash, and lay flat to dry. Artyarns set their dyes with steaming and thoroughly rinsing but differing water temperatures and chemicals can cause some dye to bleed in any yarn.

If you're pairing light and dark colours, we recommend washing your swatch first to test for colour-fastness.
