Every purchase includes exclusive patterns designed to bring out the yarn colours. Once a colour sells out it’s retired and will never be repeated.
Jan 2022 is called "Carmel-by-the-Sea", inspired by sunsets at this small beach city on California's Monterey Peninsula.
This colorway is hand-dyed as an ombré so that it will gradually evolve and stripe instead of pool. Hand-painted watercolour yarn, lovingly dyed by artisans with brushes.

Patterns will be emailed to you upon purchase*:
1. Carmel-by-the-Sea Shawl by Iris Schreier: knit with one skein of Merino Cloud and optional extra skein of Beaded Silk & Sequins Light for a sparkly edging. Knit with 5mm (US 8) needles. Finished shawl is approx 82" x 20" at deepest point after blocking
2. Carmel Colorful Cowl designed by Lucinda Iglesias: uses 1 skein of Merino Cloud in colour 329 and 1 skein of Merino Cloud in Carmel by the Sea.
This is a fun stranded knitting cowl with a fun play on color. Perfect for beginners since each of the motif is no longer than 6 sts so easy to memorise.
Finished dimensions will be approx 9" wide x 31" long with a twist
3. Love Coco Crescent Shawl designed by Susan Peck: uses 1 skein of Merino Cloud in Carmel By the Sea, with silver beads added as an option.
4. Ocean Street Rectangle Shawl designed by Danielle Courier: uses 1 skein of Double Mohair in Carmel by the Sea. Incorporating the Tuck Stitch which is a really simple way of creating a 3D effect in knitting and a great alternative to cables.
5. Carmel By The Sea Pullover designed by Karen Damskey: uses 1 skein of Carmel in Cashmere Ombre 2 Ply, 1 skein of color 239 in Cashmere Ombre 2 ply, and 1 skein of Beaded Silk and Sequins in Carmel for size 42.
PS - prices are for 1 skein of yarn. We often photograph more than one skein together so you get more "views" of the yarn, but unless you're buying a kit, each skein is sold individually.

Care: We recommend hand washing non-superwash, hand-dyed yarns. Although Artyarns are very consistent with their colourways, all hand-painted skeins are unique. If your project uses more than one skein, you may want to alternate / stripe the skeins. Block / wash in lukewarm water with some wool wash, and lay flat to dry. Artyarns set their dyes with steaming and thoroughly rinsing but differing water temperatures and chemicals can cause some dye to bleed in any yarn. If you're pairing light and dark colours, we recommend washing your swatch first to test for colour-fastness. |
