Lanivendole

A Chic Blend

Ask a question
  • Lanivendole created this blend to marry their favourite fibres to spin and knit with, and the best yarn from local breeders: mohair and alpaca from the Eastern Liguria Hills of Italy and wool from the mountains around Verona.

This stunning blend produces a 2 ply shiny and bouncy fingering weight yarn  which is hand-dyed in semisolid colours by Lanivendole in Genoa.

Spun in a small, local mill, the fibres are minimally processed. The blends are created with both a carding and a combing process before spinning, hence the particularly smooth and regular thread, that will bloom after washing a knitted garment.

  • Natural fibres spun from Italy with love...

Lanivendole literally means “women who sell yarn” in a Florentine dialect.

Here we make hand-spun yarns, which means that raw fibres are washed, dyed, carded and then spun or braided by ourselves; just like a white canvas on which a painter starts to draw, and afterwards fills with colours and details.

That is why our yarns have a soul, that shows up when they’re handled and worn, and that is why they actually call out to the person who, observing with attention, is ready to receive one, like all unexpected gift that shall be taken.

From our hearts, straight to yours.
