  • Get inspired with Artyarns Inspirations!

These are Limited Edition colours in some of our favourite Artyarns bases: Merino Cloud, Double Mohair, and for the first time ever - Cashmere Ombré 2 ply!

Every purchase includes exclusive patterns designed to bring out the yarn colours. Once a colour sells out it’s retired and will never be repeated.

Sep 2021 is called "Baltic Sea", after this wild, dramatic body of water in Northern Europe, and celebrated in all its glory with hand-painted watercolour yarn, lovingly dyed by artisans with brushes.

Read more about each of the yarns and their characteristics here:
    Merino Cloud
    Double Mohair
    Cashmere Ombré 2 ply

Patterns will be emailed to you upon purchase*:

    1. Baltic Sea Shawl bu Iris Schreier: knit with one skein of Merino Cloud (64" x 18") on 5mm (US 8) needles.

    2. Baltic Sea Cowl bu Iris Schreier: knit with one skein of Merino Cloud on 5mm (US 8) needles.

    3. Baltic Sea Inspiration Shawl by Dana Fehrenbach: knit with 1 skein of Cashmere Ombre 2 Ply and 1 sk of Silk Daydream, both in Baltic Sea, on 3.5mm and 3.75mm needles (US 4 and 5).

    4. Baltic Nights Cowl by Lucinda Iglesias: knit with 1 skein of Merino Cloud in Baltic Sea and 1 sk of Merino Cloud in 264 Charcoal on 3.75mm (US 5) needles.

    5. Baltic V-Neck Bias Top by Iris Schreier

Also photographed is Kalyn's modified Chess Shawl, by Raina K. If you'd like to knit this gorgeous brioche shawl, you'll need 2 skeins of Merino Cloud in Baltic Sea and 2 skeins in a contrast colour. We recommend Natural in Merino Cloud.

*If you're purchasing the Double Mohair, you'll also receive the 5 Pattern Compilation by Iris Schreier for this gorgeous yarn!
And you'll get the exclusive One Armed Bandit pattern as well as 4 other cashmere patterns with your purchase of Cashmere Ombré 2 ply

PS - prices are for 1 skein of yarn. We often photograph more than one skein together so you get more "views" of the yarn, but unless you're buying a kit, each skein is sold individually.

We recommend hand washing non-superwash, hand-dyed yarns.

Although Artyarns are very consistent with their colourways, all hand-painted skeins are unique. If your project uses more than one skein, you may want to alternate / stripe the skeins.

Block / wash in lukewarm water with some wool wash, and lay flat to dry. Artyarns set their dyes with steaming and thoroughly rinsing but differing water temperatures and chemicals can cause some dye to bleed in any yarn.

If you're pairing light and dark colours, we recommend washing your swatch first to test for colour-fastness.
