  • Exclusively available at Tribe: This true luxury yarn is an exquisite blend of Baby Camel and Mulberry Silk!

Baby Camel is a very special fibre. Spun from the specially selected hairs on the underside of young camels, the fibre staple length is long and strong meaning pilling is reduced.

The resulting yarn is super soft, warm, lightweight, non-allergenic, breathable and strong. The addition of silk makes it lustrous and drapey.

We asked Petra of Black Elephant yarns to dye this gorgeous base for us, and the result is so very beautiful!

With a generous 400 per skein - use this exceptional yarn for garments, accessories - even socks!

  • About Black Elephant

Petra is the super talented dyer behind the Black Elephant brand. Slovakian by by birth, Petra's love for yarn and knitting was rekindled in 2010 when she relocated to South Yorkshire and found herself craving the warmth of wool.

Realising that there's nothing out there in internet land in her mother tongue , she began her first blog - hladko obratko (knit purl) where she shared everything she learnt from English speaking videos and made her own videos in Slovakian in her spare time.

Putting her two University degrees and her day job in architecture aside, she began to hand dye her own yarn and created easy to follow knitting kits for total beginners.

    Black Elephant was born.

...the elephant is found in the form of Ganesha who is the god of luck and is a blessing upon all new projects, which is the most fitting for my yarn adventure. My Black Elephant is my blessing. I hope you will enjoy my hand dyed yarns and kits. :)
