    Sunday 7th Nov 2021, 2 - 4:30pm

We are so excited for this workshop led by Emma Matthews, founder of Socko: A workshop to teach complete beginners the lost art of darning.

During this 2½ hour workshop held on the main floor at Tribe, we'll start with a brief history of techniques from different cultures and look at examples and tools.

The majority of the time will then be practical as Emma teaches you how to darn your own clothing. You're welcome to bring items of your own that need mending or there'll be plenty of fabric there to practise on.

The whole session will be fuelled by bottomless tea and biscuits, although it's not unknown for chilled Prosecco to make appearances at our workshops too 😉.

Have you seen the Socko Egg Darning kits

From Emma: "The importance of the art of repair is no secret to those of us who have spent hours making our own clothes but it's a skill that's skipped a generation (or two), that is why I'm on a mission to re-teach the lost art of darning."

    • Class Duration:
2.5 hours, starting 10am or 2pm sharp. Please arrive on time.

      Prior Experience:
      All levels, including beginners

      Class Materials:
All materials are provided, but you might want to bring a notepad and pen, and any items you have which need darning. If they have been moth-attacked, please leave them at home - yikes!

We are sorry but we cannot offer refunds on classes if you are unable to attend for whatever reason, unless we are able to refill your spot.

If London gets zapped by Covid again, and the class is cancelled, we will refund you.

This class will take place on the main floor unless something catastrophic happens, in which case it will be upstairs.
