Warm and cosy, Number 5 is the Chunky member of the 100% Organic, breed specific Garthenor family!
An absolute dream for heavy sweaters, this yarn has wonderful stitch definition throughout, and works well for chunky cables and other textured stitches – though we’d steer clear of anything too fancy for Hedgehog, as this marled colourway excels at a plainer fabric like garter or stockinette!
From sheep to skein, Number 5 only has two things added - a gentle detergent, and a light spinning oil.
Both of these are washed out in the final rinse, so these yarns are about as pure as they come.
For us, there's simply no better reflection of the landscape that surrounds us than pure organic wool!
Each shade within Number 5 is spun individually, undyed and fully certified organic. Each has its own story:
