It was love at first sight for us! Knit your own EPIC pair of Punk socks by Butzeria with Kokon Bleu yarn! As featured on Fruity Knitting Podcast 96 as a "blow you away" pattern, and designed to showcase Kokon Bleu at Vogue Knitting Live in New York.

Inspired by a Punk Blondie mood board, both socks are a unique design in stranded colourwork with a little punkish lace work thrown into the mix.

Designer Meret Butzeria is known as the Swiss Queen of Double Knitting, and she also mentions that the socks can be double knit too, if you fancy a challenge!

This extra special kit includes the following:

• One skein of Limited Edition Kokon PINK Fingering Speckle yarn
• One pdf pattern for the socks including the charts which will be emailed to you

This beautiful yarn has a high twist and smooth, natural sheen. It's smooth and silky to work with, and has a great handle.

Construction:
The socks are worked top-down from cuff to toe. The additional stitches for the calf are decreased along the leg. <br>These socks are knitted in a roughly style, the strands carried quite wildly at the wrong side of the work, so they show through the sts on the front side. For these socks I used the shadow wrap heel technique. This specific technique is not explained in the pattern, so if you are not familiar with it, you can find some youtube videos online. It is also perfectly possible to use your own preferred heel technique. Both socks begin with a 1x1 ribbing for the cuff, next work the chart as mentioned.

Gauge:
38 sts and 38 rnds per 10cm / 4”, worked in the rnd in stockinette st on 3.5mm / 2 ½ needles, after blocking.
Changes in gauge will result in size differences and affect the amount of yarn needed to complete the project. Please take the time to check your gauge.
