3 x Sunday Afternoons: 3 - 5pm
In this immensely popular and super successful KAL-Course (KAL= Knit-a-long) you will finally learn what's involved in knitting a gorgeous Top Down (no seaming!) Sweater! This KAL-Course is based on this brilliant pattern by Becky Baker for The Fibre Co.
A timeless all-gender sweater knitted in one piece from the top down, featuring short row neck shaping for an improved fit and classic raglan detailing. The pattern is offered over 13 sizes from age 1-2 through to a 56” chest and with the option of a shorter or longer length for the adult sizes.
You can customise as you like to make it cropped, longer, sleeve length and fit. You could add blocks of colour, or stripes. We will help you make your dream sweater!
During the 3 workshop style lessons you will learn the following techniques. There will be set (fun!) homework between classes.
- Knit a sweater using the top-down construction
- Circular needles/magic loop technique
- Increase, decrease, short row shaping
- Separate stitches
- Pick up stitches
3 x 2 hour classes, 3 - 5pm. We would advise you to come to the shop to choose your yarn on a day prior to the start of the course so that we can advise you properly. If you'd like a particular colourway, please give us enough time to order this in for you. If this is not possible, please arrive at least 20 mins before the first class so we can choose and wind your yarn.
Basic knit skills - you must be able to cast on, knit and purl.
The pattern is included in your course fee. You will need to purchase/bring yarn and needles.
This pattern requires Worsted/Aran weight yarn. We recommend Cumbria by The Fibre Co.
We are sorry but we cannot offer refunds on classes if you are unable to attend for whatever reason, unless we are able to refill your spot.
Please do not bring kids, pets or other dependents with you to your classes. Please arrive on time.
The class will likely take place on the GROUND FLOOR.
My name is Nuria and I'm from Barcelona. Almost 13 years ago I married my lovely Aussie boy and we've managed to have 2 gorgeous kids together, My little Aussie man and 12 years old Aiden and my gorgeous and very determined little english lady Ari who is 8!
Six years ago we embraced a big adventure and moved to London from Barcelona. And here we are, three years later, happy and loving this little adorable place that is Kew (Richmond) where we live.
So, now that I can definitely say that my family is all settled, it's time for me to start my own big adventure and share my little creation:Yaya Knits & Bobs
Yayaknits is about sharing and teaching people to knit and crochet, along with the opportunity to purchase hand-made knit and crochet products that I can design for you or we can design together.
The inspiration for Yayaknits comes mainly from my grandmother Carmen who we would call Yaya. She was an amazing, brave and inspiring woman who taught me as a little girl all the knitting and crochet skills she was passionate about. I would like to share this passion to all that want to learn.
