Frontignan Shawl Pattern

Frontignan shawl is a triangular shaped shawl knitted flat with unique construction. It consists of 4 sections, referred to as quadrants A through D, which are separated by dividing lines, 1 through 4. These quadrants and lines are worked sequentially, yet as one piece using short rows and without needing to pick up any stitches. The shawl is almost entirely knitted in garter stitch.

Yarn
DK weight yarn in 4 colours:
A) 100g for quadrant A & B
B) 50g for the dividing lines
C) 150g for quadrant C & D
D) 50g for quadrant C

Needles
4mm/US 6 Circular needle (80cm/31”or more)
4.5mm/US 7 Circular needle (80cm/31”or more)

Stitch holder

Tension/Gauge
20 sts/10cm using smaller size needle in garter stitch
18 sts/10 using larger size needle in garter stitch.
